Most Anticipated 2015 Films

If you don’t read my blog “Thoughts of ‘J,'” well, please go check it out – shameless plug – toward the end of 2014 I wrote a list of my favorite film of all-time finalists, which I’ve started to eliminate from. Anyway, recently I was watching a video on YouTube that started to make me think about the films coming up within the next few weeks into and throughout the rest of of 2015 that have me intrigued and very excited. I put together another list. This time of the upcoming films I anticipate most – hence the title. As opposed to my bigger project I’ve given myself in finding my favorite film of all-time and not saying why about each film chosen just yet. I’ll bullet why I can’t wait for these films.

“American Sniper” (Jan. 16)

  • Based on the book of the same name written by a real life deadly U.S. sniper and American hero–in my opinion–Chris Kyle.
  • Bradley Cooper is the lead.
  • Clint Eastwood is directing.

“Ant-Man” (July 17)

  • Another Marvel cinematic universe gamble. “Guardians of the Galaxy” of 2015?
  • Paul Rudd as Ant-Man.
  • Michael freakin’ Douglas.

“Avengers: Age of Ultron” (May 1)

    • Nerdgasm!

“Chappie” (March 6)

      • Hugh Jackman is in it.
      • Neil Blomkamp is directing.

“Focus” (Feb. 27)

      • Will Smith is back and alongside Margot Robbie on top of that!
      • “Suicide Squad” film prequel? (note my sarcasm)

(Robbie is a fantastic actor. She’s one of the reasons I love “The Wolf of Wall Street.”)

“Inherent Vice” (Jan. 9)

  • Wes Anderson.
  • Look at that ensemble cast! Starting with Joaquin Phoenix.

“Jurassic World” (June 12)

  • It’s a new Jurassic film.
  • Chris Pratt.
  • Dinosaurs!

“Kingsman: The Secret Service” (Feb. 13)

      • Taron Egerton.
      • Based on a comic book series.
      • Colin Firth and Samuel L. Jackson in the same film kicking ass?!

“Spectre” (Nov. 6)

  • Sam Mendes and Daniel Craig returning.
  • Ralph Fiennes as M.
  • Christoph Waltz as the Bond villian. Am I living a dream?

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” (December)

      • It’s Star Wars!

“The Gunman” (March 20)

  • Sean Penn, Javier Bardem and Idris Elba in the same film!?
